چکیده
Increasing productive water use in agriculture is seen as paramount to meet future food demand with limited supplies. The main objective of this paper gain a better understanding the interrelated linkages between crop productivity (CWP) and applied (AWP) affected by irrigation management decisions order assess impact economic decision making on CWP AWP under area-limiting water-limiting conditions. A daily soil balance mathematical programming model that explicitly models technology choice stochastic weather efficiency was used study interactions. assumption made rational maker will allocate maximize expected profits. results showed is, large extent, unresponsive increasing applications, especially when applications are approaching maximum potential yields. difference optimal yields for scenarios small, which shows portion production function relevant small falls within range changes. Profit maximizing makers not try or since these objectives result profit losses.

Modeling Crop Water Productivity Using a Coupled SWAT–MODSIM Model
This study examines the water productivity of irrigated wheat and maize yields in Karkheh River Basin (KRB) in the semi-arid region of Iran using a coupled modeling approach consisting of the hydrological model (SWAT) and the river basin water allocation model (MODSIM). Dynamic irrigation requirements instead of constant time series of demand were considered. As the cereal production of KRB pla...

The increase in water productivity is likely to play a vital role in coping with the additional requirement for food production and the growth of the uses of water other than in agriculture in the coming century consistent with the shift from productivity per unit land to productivity per unit water, the nutritional productivity of water is calculated as energy, protein, calcium, fat, Vitamin A...
متن کاملImproving Water Sustainability and Food Security through Increased Crop Water Productivity in Malawi
Agriculture accounts for most of the renewable freshwater resource withdrawals in Malawi, yet food insecurity and water scarcity remain as major challenges. Despite Malawi’s vast water resources, climate change, coupled with increasing population and urbanisation are contributing to increasing water scarcity. Improving crop water productivity has been identified as a possible solution to water ...

7 Heihe River Basin is located in the arid inland area of northwest China and is facing 8 serious water shortage problems. Since irrigation is the largest water consumer in the 9 middle reaches of the Basin, it is crucial to study the crop yields and water 10 consumption in order to improve the agricultural water productivity and to support 11 sustainable economic development in this region. Ba...
متن کاملClimate change impacts on crop yield, crop water productivity and food security – A review
This paper provides a comprehensive review of literature related to the assessment of climate change impacts on crop productivity using climate, water and crop yield models. The existing studies present that climate change models with higher spatial resolution can be a way forward for future climate projections. Meanwhile, stochastic projections of more than one climate model are necessary for ...
